Job Description

We are seeking a talented designer to join our creative team, working alongside our creative director and senior designer.

Steel Media is a media and events company, primarily operating in the video games sector. We work in both digital and print, and across our websites, conferences, reports and other activities there is a need for diverse and interesting creatives. We need a creative person to join our team, creating eye-catching marketing materials for our international conference series, such as Pocket Gamer Connects – you'll also design social media assets, website banners, email graphics, and occasional print materials for the events, ensuring brand consistency across platforms. Working closely with our creative and marketing teams, you'll contribute to promotional content, event branding and sponsored campaigns. If you have strong digital design skills, experience with Adobe Creative Suite, and a keen eye for marketing visuals, we'd love to hear from you.

This role can be either part-time or full-time, and we're open to both permanent PAYE and freelance arrangements, depending on availability and your preference. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility in working arrangements while maintaining close collaboration with our global team.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Create marketing assets in a timely fashion, following a brief from the marketing manager and creative director
  • Assist with the creation of event materials within set branding guidelines
  • Interpret briefs and requests from across the company and turn ideas into compelling media assets

SPECIFICS

  • Create digital marketing materials for our international conference series, including Pocket Gamer Connects events, according to set briefs
  • Design social media assets, email marketing graphics, and website banners for event promotion in collaboration with the marketing teams
  • Collate, store and deploy sponsor graphics, logos and partner materials
  • Collate, store and deploy speaker and delegate photos (as supplied by our photographers)
  • Develop consistent branding materials across multiple event platforms
  • Help create print materials for physical events (banners, signage, promotional materials)
  • Produce visually engaging materials for social media channels
  • Design and update website skins and promotional overlays
  • Support the development of digital reports and presentations
  • Work closely with the senior designer and creative director to maintain brand consistency
  • Manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions to project briefs
  • Attend events as directed and help out behind the scenes

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Strong digital design skills with an emphasis on marketing materials, logos and photo layouts
  • Understanding of social media platform requirements and specifications
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining team communication
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Experience with print design is beneficial
